Per June 2008, the solenoid valves series 97105 from Norgren-Herion are TÜV certified for use in SIL 3 applications and allowed for application in SIL 4 systems. This brings new opportunites for use in the process industry, where reliablity and/or safety are crucial.
The 97105 is an indirectly controlled solenoid valve, for safety systems upto SIL 4 (IEC 61508). The valves can be applied in the protection classes Ex me, Ex md, Ex m, Ex ia for zones 1 & 2 (gases), 21 & 22 (dusts), ATEX cat. II 2GD.
Suitable for outdoor installation if equipped with corresponding solenoid.
International certifications: a.o. IECEx, FM, CSA.
The valves are available in NAMUR and INLINE. Monostable, bistable and 5/3-way and closed mid-position, suitable for single acting and double acting actuators.
