Asco Numatics announces the 92280-1 range of high-speed pneumatic valves, a new range of 5-ported, 2-position valves that feature extremely short response times – up to 6 ms, and a wide temperature range of –25 °C to 90 °C.
The 92280-1 valve is solenoid pilot actuated with a performance of 3.5 Watt. To ensure corrosion resistance, only aluminium, plastics and non-corroding steel components are used in its manufacture. The 1/4 and 1/8 inch ports for the air tubes are integrated in the housing so that a sub-base is no longer needed. The flow capacity is 500 Nl/min at 6 bar.
The new valve features the unique ASCO NUMATICS spool and sleeve assembly. This comprises a cylindrical sleeve with radially arranged air passages, in which a spool with an air clearance of 1 μm fits. The changing spool position distributes the
compressed air. The air bearing principle reduces the friction between the piston and cylinder to a minimum and this ensures safe and almost wear free operation of up to 200 million cycles, even under extreme conditions.
The new 92280-1 high-speed valves are suitable for a wide range of applications and are ideal for use in plants where complex adhesive bonding procedures are carried out. The piloting valve ensures that the adhesive drops are applied on the
right spot in a split second cycle. Other applications include sorting /material recovery facilities, where a compressed-air blast removes recyclable materials from a conveyor belt.
