ATHEX Industrial Suppliers was accepted as a member of the Industrial Cleaning Foundation (SIR), in collaboration with Newson Gale, in order to share knowledge about static grounding in hazardous areas. For this, we maintain relationships mainly with members within the discipline ”pressure-vacuum cleaning”, because this topic is very important during these operations.

Pressure-vacuum trucks (un)loading flammable products through hoses, generates extremely high static charges which may accumulate to dangerous levels, if the static grounding is not functioning properly. This causes a huge risk of fire and explosions.

Permanently mounted ground control systems can offer solutions for controlling the static grounding to discharge safely any static electricity.
However, in many cases operators need to do activities like loading/unloading without the presence of fixed mounted systems. In this case, the operators rely on their own equipment, mounted on the truck, which can be connected to the earth. There is very much uncertainty about the current state of the equipment, as well as about the grounding point to which a connection is made.

Newson Gale developed some pioneering solutions that can increase safety during chemical cleaning operations.
The award winning Earth-Rite MGV (Mobile Grounding Verification) verifies the integrity of the static earth, and checks whether the truck is connected to the earth according to international guidelines like IEC60079-32-1, NFPA77,…
Using the OhmGuard, hoses can be checked on their good continuity to the ground. This can be monitored at the start of each operation.
