Last May we got a request from Tim Verwijmeren on behalf of Carnival association The Leutlaaiers from Boemeldonck (Prinsenbeek) if we could help them with a number of drives for their float. The theme was ”Elephant in a china shop.”
In the 11 meter high float 5 pieces FC 301 drives (0.55 to 3 kW) are used for the moving cups.
Tim Verwijmeren: ”In May we start brainstorming. This year’s idea was..” Like an elephant in a china shop. We worked out the idea, picked the music, the costumes etc. In September we started with the construction of the car. We had 14 men plus additional fixed helpers involved. Each item is built separately.
The inverters were used for the cups. These cups moved from left to right and front to back. We needed the drives because the motors were going too fast.
Sunday, Feb 15th, was the day of the street parade. This was our debut in the A category (11 meters high), we’ve build a 5 B car (8.5 meters high). In this debut year we are very satisfied with our eighth place. We hope to participate in the A category for many years to come. We would like to thank Danfoss very much for their sponsorship!”
