30th Fakuma: MAAG wins first place in the Innovation Award for revolutionary PVC pump

During the anniversary edition of Fakuma, the MAAG Group achieved a great feat. The Fakuma Innovation Award was presented for the first time at the 30th plastics processing trade fair, and MAAG immediately secured first place in the Extrusion category with its new extrex⁶ EC PVC pump.

The extrex⁶ EC is the world’s first gear pump specifically developed for the continuous pumping of rigid PVC, setting a new standard in PVC processing technology.

Key technical specifications:
The pump stands out in the field of fluid handling and process optimisation thanks to the following innovations:

• Dead-zone-free construction:
  Thanks to the innovative design, dead spaces are completely eliminated, thereby preventing the material from remaining in the system for too long. This prevents thermal decomposition and ensures a stable and clean process.

• Up to 50% greater efficiency in the extruder:
  The consistent and pressure-stable output significantly reduces the load on the extruder. Depending on the application, throughput can be increased substantially or energy savings of up to 50% can be achieved.

• Reduction of the process temperature to 10 °C:
  The optimised temperature control minimises the thermal stress on the medium. As a result, in certain cases, the use of expensive stabilisers can be dispensed with, which provides a significant economic benefit.
