Simply smart – VLT ecoSmart for efficiency calculation
Use VLT ecoSmart to
•Look up standard part load loss data for VLT® drives
•Enter any application-specific part load points
•Calculate IE class and part load data for a frequency converter
•Calculate IES class for an asynchronous motor+frequency converter system
•Create a report stating part load loss data and IE or IES efficiency class
•Export the part load data points to your system
Three simple steps
How does VLT ecoSmart work?
1.Just enter the nameplate data.
2.Then enter any application-specific part load points.
3.VLT ecoSmart calculates the IE or IES efficiency class and part load data.
You get a pdf report for documentation.
How do I classify a motor+frequency converter system when the components are sourced separately?
The easy way:
Use VLT ecoSmart to find IES class, and get a pdf report as documentation.
The other way:
•Add the losses of the motor at nominal load (100 % speed & 100 % torque) to the losses of the frequency converter at nominal load (100 % frequency & 100 % load).
•Compare the sum to the reference value for the IES class, given in the EN 50598-2 standard.
•Direct addition of frequency converter IE class and motor IE class is not possible.
