Reliable Flowrox pinch valves in FGD process

Flowrox pinch valve improves the reliability of lime control

Flowrox pinch valves in FGD process

Shut-off & Control Solutions
With over 4 000 successful installations, Flowrox has provided solutions for demanding shut-off, control and pumping applications in the energy industry. Flowrox valves improve productivity by improving process efficiency and extending service intervals.

Improved Performance In Lime Slurry Control Process

Vattenfall Energy, located in Denmark, wanted to improve the performance of the existing valve process conditions in their FGD (Flue gas desulphurization) lime slurry control feeding system. The process originally had a special control valve with a ceramic trim system installed and service time for this valve was typically around 6 to 9 months. After a meeting with Scanrox, an official Flowrox representative in Denmark, the customer decided to select Flowrox PVE 50mm pinch valve for the critical lime slurry control application and replace the old valve.

Extended Service Interval of Flowrox Valves
After the installation of the first Flowrox valve, the reliability of lime control was significantly improved and a year after, another Flowrox valve (PVE 65mm) was installed. As a result of the pinch valve replacing the old ceramic valve, the service interval was extended to more than 24 months without any disturbances in the lime slurry control.

Key Benefits of the Flowrox Pinch Valves:
Excellent wear resistance - only the inside sleeve is in contact with the medium.
Extended service interval - sleeve lifetime was extended to more than 2 years.
Low maintenance cost - inside sleeve is the only replaceable part.
